Yes! The project is explicitly endorsed and supported by the Provincial School Board. All offers and steps of the project are approve by the Legal Department of the Provincial Board.

We are generating scientific knowledge from the collected data. This is important for our research group, as we base our newly developed program to support children on this data. Moreover, other researchers can use our results to generate support offers for children.

There are no costs for participants. Participation is not binding and can be terminated at any time. We provide all materials for workshops or other offers.

Our work is designed to be as anonymous as possible, but it is still important to know our contacts. When we´re working with students, it is important for us to being able to address them by name. This corresponds to our idea of positive communication.

All contact details such as telephone numbers or email addresses are used exclusively to get in touch with you for the research project. There is no data transfer to third parties. After the end of the project, your data will be deleted automatically.
The project is for all adolescents. It is of particular importance for the research team that children and young people from all social groups are reached.

We want to reach the people who need our support, at a level where they can be reached. Most children and teenagers today have their own smartphone with Internet access and use this regularly. Even in areas where limited mobility makes maintaining social contacts challenging, young adults can use an online platform. A particular objective of our online platform is to encourage users to socialize in real life.

The aim of our research is to investigate socially relevant topics and to develop support opportunities that have social added values. We include people from the target group, experts and experienced persons (experts by living). Every step of the project will be developed with the feedback of these project participants in order to ensure the quality and applicability of our methods.
We need good relationships with our fellow human beings to be healthy and happy. In times of change, such relationships can be lost, for example during the transition from primary to secondary school. We want to help young people build new relationships and maintain existing ones.
We want to support children and teenagers in their school environment. This includes creating free and non-binding offers. Our gain lies in talking directly with children and adolescents about their opinions on social connectedness.
We only collect anonymous data that can´t be traced back to any of the children or their families. We want to hear children´s and young people´s opinions on the issues of friendship, conflicts and challenges of school transition and media use. All data from the workshops will be evaluated together and no individual examples will be used.
We use the data exclusively within the project in order to develop a support offer that exactly matches the wishes and needs of children and adolescents. There is no cooperation with companies; the data isn´t used for any paid offers.
Participation is voluntary and can terminated at any time. We create a playful offer that should provide a good time for the children. At the same time, we inform the kids in form of a contact card about free contact persons in lower Austria such as “Rat auf Draht”.
We publish our results on our homepage. Text messages on Facebook and Twitter (@projectDOT) indicate new releases.
Relationships and social connectedness are particularly vulnerable if a transitional situation such as the change of school is accompanied by further challenges. The number of mentally ill people is steadily increasing in our society. More and more parents are falling ill, which represents a special challenge for the children and adolescents. We want to support these children in particular and use the insights of this work to provide support for all children in particularly challenging life situations.
